John Ballatine-Pollock is a veteran music educator with over a decade of experience insipiring young musicians. He holds a B.A. in Music Education from Muskingum University and completed his Orff Schulwerk certification at Kent State University. John's diverse teaching career spans public and private schools across Ohio, Georgia, and North Carolina. Notably, he also spent three years developing innovative children's programming for the Live Oak Public Library System in Savannah, Georgia, where he found the popular "Music and Movement Storytime" for toddlers.

John is deeply passionate about the Orff Schulwerk approach, drawn to its endless possibilities for creativity and its unique ability to provide accessible pathways for every learner, not matter their individual strengths. As an active clinician dedicated to sharing these student-centered practices, John regularly presents at local workshops as well as state and national conferences.

He is a proud member of NAfME and the American Orff-Schulwerk Association (AOSA), currently serving as the Communications Directors for the Central Carolina Chapter of AOSA. Throughout his career, John has taught a wide spectrum of specialized classes, including chorus, ukulele, handchimes, theatre, musical theatre, and film appreciation. Currenlty, John teachers K-5 general music and directs the Brooks Chorus and Orffestra at Brooks Museums Magnet Elementary, and proudly serves as an Associate Director for the Cary-Apex Youth Choir.
